Ammonia and Refrigeration Tech

Job Summary

Support maintenance operations by performing preventive maintenance and repairs on various equipment, including refrigeration systems, hydraulic equipment, and wastewater treatment machinery. Operate material handling and powered equipment while ensuring compliance with safety and company standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the repair and maintenance of industrial equipment, including lift trucks, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and electronic control devices.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot refrigeration and electrical issues using technical drawings and diagnostic tools.
• Operate and maintain ammonia refrigeration systems, compressors, and fan units.
• Monitor and adjust wastewater treatment plant operations to ensure compliance and optimal performance.
• Perform preventive maintenance on refrigeration systems following manufacturer guidelines.
• Handle hazardous materials as a member of the Haz-Mat team and maintain safety standards.
• Document completed work through records, logs, and digital systems.
• Lead and support team members by sharing knowledge, coordinating tasks, and providing feedback.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, ethical standards, and compliance regulations.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to team efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience

• 18 years of age or older.
• Trade/vocational school degree or certificate in industrial maintenance or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in industrial refrigeration.
• 5+ years of experience with HVAC systems.
• 5+ years of experience in wastewater treatment plant operations.
• 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance.
• RETA Certified Assistant Refrigeration Operator (CARO).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Class I or II Wastewater Operator certification within 30 months of hire.
• Class I or II Wastewater Operator certification.
• RETA Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator (CIRO) certification.

Salary

The hourly wage range for this position is $33.30 - $35.30. Additional premiums may apply based on job location and duties.
