Member Specialist

Job Summary:

This position plays a vital role in providing excellent customer service, ensuring the smooth operation of our checkout areas, and safeguarding store assets. You will be the first point of contact for our members, assisting with transactions, resolving issues, and promoting Sam’s Club products and services. Responsibilities:

• Ensure the proper handling of returns, zoning areas, and organizing merchandise according to company policies and procedures.
• Provide exceptional customer service by assisting members with purchasing decisions, locating merchandise, and acknowledging member needs in the exit and self-checkout areas.
• Resolve member issues and concerns, promote Sam's Club products and services, and guide members on self-service technology, ensuring seamless and efficient transactions.
• Safeguard Sam's Club assets by monitoring for potential criminal activity and executing emergency response procedures according to company policies.
• Assist in training new associates on company processes, technology, and tool functionalities, as well as delivering ongoing learning opportunities for process improvement.
• Maintain accurate logs, documentation, and records of activities related to asset protection and customer interactions.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of integrity, ensuring that ethical practices are followed and organizational values are upheld.
• Collaborate with managers, co-workers, and other business partners to accomplish work assignments, meet deadlines, and identify opportunities for process improvements.
• Foster a team-oriented environment by building strong relationships, communicating effectively, and supporting the development of others.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Previous customer service experience, preferably in a retail environment.
• Familiarity with operating front-end equipment (e.g., cash registers, self-checkout systems).
• Experience with mobile retail applications is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with customers and team members.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Positive attitude, energy, and enthusiasm for helping others.
• Basic understanding of asset protection and safety practices in retail environments.

• Competitive hourly wage range: $18.00 to $25.00, depending on experience and location.
• Additional compensation in the form of premiums ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour for specific schedules, facilities, or work performed.
