Job Summary of Checkout Associate:

The efficient selection of merchandise from storage locations to fulfill customer orders and restock Walmart stores is the core responsibility of an Order Picker. In a fast-paced environment, you will use handheld devices and advanced picking equipment to locate and pack items according to order specifications. Your ability to be meticulous, swift, and precise plays a significant role in ensuring that orders are processed accurately and expediently, aligning with Walmart's dedication to providing exceptional customer service and maintaining optimal inventory levels.

Job Duties and Responsibilities of Checkout Associate:

• Implement mobile devices or picking lists to identify and pick out products from designated storage areas in the warehouse.
• Complete orders with accuracy and detail by efficiently navigating through storage racks and aisles to retrieve items.
• In ensuring customer satisfaction, it is critical to verify that the details, quantities, and quality of each product are correct before packaging.
• Prepare products for shipping by using suitable packaging supplies like sturdy boxes, bubble wrap, and packing peanuts to ensure safe transport.
• Add pertinent shipping information, barcodes, tracking numbers, and any other compelled documentation to the packages.
• Maintain updated inventory records by utilizing the warehouse management system to capture item selection and packaging information.
• If there are any discrepancies or shortages in inventory, it is important to inform your supervisors to address the issue.
• It's important to conduct a meticulous visual inspection of the merchandise for any damages, defects, or discrepancies before moving forward with the picking and packing procedure.
• Observing safety protocols and guidelines in the warehouse is imperative to ensure the safety of all staff members.
• Follow safety protocols when using equipment and maintain an organized workspace to boost efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience of Checkout Associate:

• Although not obligatory, possessing a high school diploma or its equivalent is encouraged.
• Those with a history of warehouse operations, order picking, or related work experience may have an edge.
• Knowing how to operate handheld devices and warehouse managing systems can be useful.
• Sharp eye for detail and precision when it comes to picking and packing merchandise.
• The talent for managing time and being organized is highly regarded.
• Capability to work both independently and cooperatively in a dynamic working environment.
