Principal, Data Scientist

Job Summary:

In this role, you will lead the development of cutting-edge AI and machine learning solutions across various domains, including operations, merchandising, finance, conversational AI, and e-commerce. Your work will focus on deploying machine learning models that provide real business value and improve the member experience. With a strong focus on iovation and cross-functional collaboration, this position offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact by blending retail expertise with advanced AI technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of data scientists and machine learning engineers to tackle challenging retail problems with AI solutions.
• Design and develop machine learning models and solutions for core retail domains, including merchandising, operations, finance, and e-commerce.
• Manage full project life cycles, from plaing and data collection to model deployment, ensuring timely and effective delivery.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to drive iovation in discovery experiences through insights, frameworks, and machine learning prototypes.
• Build and implement a robust MLOps framework to enable continuous deployment, testing, and optimization of data science models.
• Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and impactful maer.
• Foster a culture of learning and growth by mentoring and developing a team of data scientists.
• Work with large datasets, applying data science techniques to extract insights and inform business decisions.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in AI and machine learning, applying new technologies and methodologies to improve existing systems.

Qualifications and Experience:

• 7-10 years of professional experience in building and deploying machine learning models.
• Expertise in Machine Learning, Generative AI, Deep Learning, and MLOps practices.
• Strong programming skills in Python, PySpark, and experience with machine learning frameworks like scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
• Deep understanding of the merchandising domain, including pricing, assortment, space plaing, and planogram.
• Experience with large-scale machine learning systems and cloud environments such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Azure.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and distributed data stores (e.g., NoSQL, Big Data).
• Experience in leading and mentoring a team of data scientists.
• Understanding of CI/CD and software engineering principles in data science workflows.
• Advanced knowledge of deep learning techniques (CNNs, RNNs, GANs) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) is a plus.
• Prior experience in the retail data sector is preferred.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
• A Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field is preferred.

Salary:

• The aual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00, depending on experience.
• Additional compensation may include aual or quarterly performance bonuses.
