Yard Truck and City Driver
Job Summary of Yard Truck and City Driver:
As a Yard Truck Driver, you will operate a Yard Truck to transport trailers safely to designated locations, adhering to all regulations (e.g., company, local, state, and federal). Attention to detail is required while maintaining records, logs, and forms, including those required by the Department of Transportation (DOT). Operating a Yard Truck off facility property will also be required.
As a City Driver, you will operate a tractor-trailer delivering trailer loads of merchandise to stores. You will maintain records, retain load-related paperwork, and electronic logs (e.g., hours of service log), following all required forms by the Department of Transportation and other agencies. Safety, accuracy, and attention to detail are critical to these roles. You will also help maintain a clean and safe work environment, complying with company policies and procedures.
Job Duties and Responsibilities of Yard Truck and City Driver:
- Maintain records, logs, and forms as required by DOT regulations.
- Operate Yard Truck off the facility property when required.
- Safely deliver trailer loads of merchandise to stores as a City Driver.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain accurate records of load-related paperwork.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintenance Operations:
- Perform maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance on equipment and facilities.
- Report unsafe working conditions and any equipment issues.
- Utilize CMMS to record work history and parts usage.
Custodian Operations:
- Perform facility upkeep activities, including cleaning and operating equipment.
- Spot unsafe working conditions and report them with suggested solutions.
- Ensure facility upkeep equipment is in working order and supplies are stocked.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid state-issued driver’s license for Yard Driver role.
- Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) for Yard Driver (to be obtained within 6 months).
- For City Driver: Interstate Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement (or will obtain within 120 days of hire).
- 30 months of experience in full-time Class A tractor/trailer driving in the last 3 years for City Driver role.
- No more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years.
- No serious traffic violations in the past 3 years.
- No DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving convictions in the last 10 years.
- No preventable accidents in the last 3 years and no preventable DOT recordable accidents in the last 10 years.
- No preventable accidents resulting in fatalities or catastrophic injury in commercial vehicle driving history.
